Artist's Description

This an original acrylic and collage painting by Mike Robles. The painting is based on a photograph of a scallop shell imbedded in beach sand. As water flows over the shell and recedes it leaves a pattern in the sand.
This 8x11inch painting was done on an MDF panel using artist quality acrylic paints and the background sand was glued to the panel with acrylic matte medium and finished with waterproof acrylic satin varnish. As a result, it does not need to be framed under glass!
