Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description

Kilauea Lighthouse on a NOAA Nautical Chart is an original acrylic painting by Mike Robles. The Lighthouse was painted using artist quality acrylic paints on Duralar film, which can be used as the glazing for the painting.
"Dedicated in 1913 the lighthouse served as a pivotal navigation aid for ships on the Orient run. Today, it is one of Kauai's most visited sites with more than 500,000 annual visitors. Time and the harsh tropic marine environment have taken their toll on these historic buildings. The result is a site now in critical condition. The Kilauea Point Natural History Association, a nonprofit organization is conducting the capital campaign to restore the Lighthouse."

Mike Robles

About the Artist, Mike Robles I am a senior artist and a native Californian. I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Carlmont High School, Belmont in 1958. I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1963 with a BS in Physical Sciences. One week after graduating, I married Jane and this year we’ll be celebrating our 50th anniversary. My career as an analytical chemist for GE Nuclear Energy started in 1963 at the Hanford Engineering Works in Eastern Washington. In 1969, my family (wife and two sons) and I moved back to California and settled in Livermore. I continued working for GE for most of my 40 year career.
